Which section of Amazon’s businesses is the most profitable?

TrueOps
I’ve been using TrueOps for a few months now. They’ve already put $12,061.71 back in my pocket—money that would have been lost to Amazon.
TrueOps is a reimbursement company, and they’re unlike any other similar company I’ve dealt with.
They’re extremely client-focused and will go to bat for you against Amazon if you’re owed money.
Here’s a few more awesome things TrueOps has:
  • Industry-best 10% reimbursement rate
  • North American auditors who respond fast
  • Onboarding in under 5 minutes
  • Auto-reversal credits
  • Flexible delay settings
TrueOps finds more of your money than anyone else. With Amazon tightening its reimbursement windows, now down to just 60 days in some cases, why settle for less?
I recently had a shipment where Amazon received less then I sent. I noticed, and asked them to match up the weights of the shipments. They’d already done it. I don’t know about you, but having the peace of mind of a company that actually knows what they’re doing is a big deal for me.
Anyway, here’s the cherry on top: Your first $10K reimbursed is free.

Big thanks to Emma for guest posting this week’s Instant Value Seection!
How would increasing your conversion rate by even a few percentage points impact your business?
More profit in your pocket, lower cost of customer acquisition, more raving fans…
The key to better conversion rates is Amazon listing optimization.
But if you want to move the needle, stuffing your product page with more keywords and writing some new sentences with ChatGPT isn’t going to cut it.
Luckily, Emma Schermer Tamir from Marketing by Emma is sharing her Amazon listing optimization secrets from reviewing over 8,000 listings.
Discover how the top performing brands optimize their listings in this actionable video.

What’s Going on at the Beach?
The house is coming along…
We’ve got walls! The house in Costa Rica is coming together, and the basement is up. I’ll be sharing more on Instagram if you want to follow along: https://www.instagram.com/sellingfromthebeach/.
Now, I’m working on home audio and automation. We planned on using Sonos, but they broke their app a few months back. It’s useless now. I can’t believe a company would ruin their own product like that. So, we’re hunting for another solution.
If you’ve got a recommendation, let me know. We just need good speakers for the main living area and outdoors. A friend mentioned Savant, but I’m worried it’s too expensive and tough to service in Costa Rica.
If you’ve got suggestions or Amazon links, send them my way. You can DM me on Instagram too. I’d love to hear from you!

Amazon & TikTok Team Up:
The biggest e-commerce news lately is Amazon & TikTok have buried the hatchet and teamed up in a big way.
Now, TikTok users can buy from Amazon (while on TikTok) without ever leaving the app.
  • TikTok now has access to every Amazon item for their creators; and
  • Amazon now has access to every TikTok creator.
What’s next? It looks like social commerce is here to stay.

The Biggest AMEX US Platinum Sign-Up Bonus I’ve Ever Seen!
The AMEX US Platinum Sign Up bonus right now is huge. 200K points – that’s basically $2,000 USD for free.
(annual fee is $695, though).
This is the biggest I’ve seen it in recent times.
There are also a ton of bonuses too – I love this card. Have you signed up for one yet?

Getting Hotel Upgrades by being Cheeky!
The boys are back to school on today, so last week we took a quick trip to Dreams Las Mareas. This place is only a 2 1/2 hour drive from where we live… crazy, right?
We spent three nights with friends, celebrating a birthday. We got a local rate but still asked for an upgrade and a deal…
Here’s how it went: I checked online and saw other rooms available that night. So, I asked if they had any upgrades or premium service levels open. They did. Upgrading to a bigger room with swim-out pool access was $169 a night. A good deal. But the check-in area was empty, so I joked a bit and asked if they could do better—offered $100, promised a 5-star Tripadvisor review, and in the review, i’d make sure to spell her name right.
Over the years, I’ve noticed that managers around here seem to check all the online reviews. Staff always ask for their names to be mentioned. She countered, and I joked that her price was only worth a 4-star review. We settled on $140 a night. I don’t have a perfect strategy, but asking for a last-minute deal, when I knew that room wouldn’t sell, and throwing in a few jokes, made it easier for them to work something out.
Have you ever tried something like this?

Are you a user on somebody else’s Amazon Brand Registry?
Last week I spoke with Lesley Hensell of Riverbend Consulting. She said a lot of scary things. These scary things were basically all of the ways that people got warned, slapped, suspended, or worse. Here’s one of my new favorite fears:
If you’re a user on someone else’s brand registry… and the brand does some “shady stuff,” Amazon has been known to ban all the brand registry access for all users of the brand.
This means: You are a user on Brand X. Brand X does something not good. You are also a user on Brand Y and Z – Amazon removes brand registry access on those, too.
Yikes.
Here’s the fix:
  1. Login to Brand Registry
  2. Click on the Settings COG top right, choose “User Permissions”
  3. Remove yourself from any brand you’re no longer associated with or doing work for
  4. Done
Thanks again, Lesley!
