3 Simple Steps to Turn Rufus into Your Listing Coach
Struggling to boost your Amazon clicks and ramp up sales?
Meet Rufus, Amazon’s AI-powered shopping assistant already used by millions. By scanning titles, bullets, reviews, images, and shopper questions, Rufus recommends the perfect products.
But how can you harness Rufus to boost conversions, increase clicks, and grow your sales?
Here are 3 easy steps to do just that. Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Make Rufus Do Your Work
Pro tip: Start by “spying” on your high-converting competitors. Their listings are gold: study them, don’t just copy. Check out the questions Rufus suggests and note the ones that repeat across listings.
Example: Hyaluronic Acid Serums
They all promise skin hydration, right? But if Rufus suggests questions like, “Can it be used under a makeup base or primer?”, that can be a massive insight! As a brand builder, you might never have guessed that’s a concern.
Now you know one of their big questions:
Step 2: Scan Your Listing with Amazon’s AI
Spot a Rufus-suggested question worth highlighting?
Now use a free tool like ImageChek.com to see what Amazon’s AI actually recognizes in your images. You might assume your listing screams “Yes, of course you can layer it under makeup, duh!”—but Amazon AND shoppers could be clueless.
Psst! A friend used ImageChek and found out their ‘baby stroller’ was taken as a ‘scooter’ by Amazon’s AI!
Action Item:
  • Drop an explicit statement on one of your images, like: “Formulated for Under Makeup!” That’s for Rufus.
Let’s go even further?
Even a quick text snippet on your main image can stand out in search results and win more clicks.
Step 3: Create New Concepts
Spotted an angle that might resonate?
How about “UNDER MAKEUP FORMULA?”
Worth testing!
These days, you can whip up fresh visuals without bugging your designer. Even if it seems odd or basic, that’s what split-testing is for – quickly finding hidden gems.
Free Hack:
Use Variationizer.com (like Canva for Amazon Sellers) to quickly add the new label. This one literally took me a minute (I’m not a designer at all):
Next: run a ProductPinion Amazon Search Simulation Test to see which version grabs more clicks before going live on Amazon.
Max’s note: ProductPinion is the our favorite A/B testing software. Want to know why? See here.
A similar tweak boosted our CTR by 23% (!) – while we stated the obvious. How’s that for some instant value?
Your 3 Action Steps for Today:
  1. Make Rufus Do Your Work
  2. Scan Your Listing with Amazon’s AI
  3. Create New Concepts to Run Quick-Tempo A/B Test
Every tiny improvement compounds.
Testing is like brushing your teeth: you’re never really done. The marketplace situation changes, so keep adjusting with real data.
Test, tweak, test again.
Ready to see your sales climb?
Drop Andri a message on LinkedIn if this approach works for you or if you’ve got fresh ideas. Now, go out there and crush it with Rufus!

ICYMI: Turn off PPC When Organic Rank is High
This was one of the most popular LinkedIn posts of the last month.
I know some people are too afraid to turn off their PPC when they’re at a high organic rank (positions 1-3).
I’m not.
I don’t like cannibalization, okay?
(even if the human is really good looking).
The inventive team at Scale Insights recently launched a keyword tracker. This allows us to build out automations where it will turn off PPC spend on specific keywords where we’re ranking high already.
…And then turn them back on if our organic rank drops.
And I don’t have to do anything (Perfect!).
Simply awesome. I wonder how much money this will save me.
A lot, I bet.
P.S., My friend Anthony Nguyen built this and automated it. If you want to know more about AdsCrafted or the most profitable PPC account you’ve ever had, reply to this email and I will connect you.

Who’s ready for yet another Amazon Ads partner?! Yeah, me neither.
At this point, to even consider a chat they’d need to like…
  • DON’T TELL me you’re good, SHOW ME on my P&L
  • Problem? FIX IT IN <24HRS, don’t just “Understand my frustration”
  • MANUALLY adjust key levers for a tight grip on performance
  • BE A SELLER to truly get PPC’s impact on my brand
Fair enough, right?!
Oh wait, I now realize I know someone like this.

High-Value Newsletter Recommendation:
If you love reading Selling From the Beach then you’ll really love what our friend Jon Derkits is doing with his newsletter, Best@Amazon.
Jon is ex-Amazon and shares a ton of tips that are both meticulously researched and very “inside baseball.” I honestly feel a tiny spark of joy whenever I receive an email from him (I usually receive zero sparks of joy from email, and Jon’s Newsletter is the exception).

Roaming The Right Way
In this week’s travel hack, Marsha Cosman shares awesome tip from her book: Living the Digital Nomad Dream: Stories, Strategy & Finances.
Why using eSIMs are great for digital nomads:
  • No Need for Physical SIMs: An eSIM is a built-in digital SIM that allows you to switch carriers instantly without swapping physical cards.
  • Instant Activation Anywhere: Purchase and activate a local or regional plan from anywhere.
  • Multi-Country Coverage: Services like Airalo, Nomad, and GigSky offer international plans that work across multiple countries, perfect for frequent travelers.
  • Dual SIM Advantage: Keep your home number active while using an eSIM for data and local calls.
  • Cost Savings: Avoid expensive roaming fees by using a local eSIM instead of your primary carrier’s international plan.
This simple upgrade can save hundreds of dollars in roaming fees!
The boutique hotel with views you won’t forget
One of our favorite spots for either lunch, dinner, day pass or an overnight say is Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas.
It is an adults-only boutique hotel located just down the road here in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.  Each of the villas are private with their own personal saltwater plunge pool.  The main pool has amazing views of the Pacific Ocean.
The hotel has received loads of awards over the past few years including the #2 resort in Central America by Travel + Leisure.  Even if you don’t stay, they do offer day passes to enjoy the pool and restaurant. If you want a relaxing pool day with amazing views, add this one to the list, but leave the kids at home 😉
Think $80M/y is enough to avoid Amazon’s BS?
Think again.
Ivan Ong, co-founder of KeaBabies, was hacked a few days ago. The attacker somehow managed to change his phone number and OTP, gaining full access to his account.
Ivan’s brand generates $80M per year, and it took him 10 days to resolve the issue. That downtime cost him roughly $2.2m…on top of the stress and lost time.
Even with a massive network, it still took Ivan so long to regain control. Imagine if he didn’t have those connections. Amazon needs better cybersecurity, but until then, here’s how you can protect yourself:
  • Enable 2FA, preferably on your phone.
  • Use a second account with full permissions to access your main one.
  • Change passwords quarterly.
  • Use a password manager like LastPass.
  • Reformat your computer once a year.
  • Go to Amazon Accelerate 2025 and get business cards from Amazon employees!
Don’t wait until it happens to you.
