The drones are coming…
Amazon’s foray into drones has been hyped now for over 10+ years. Seeing a drone delivery is exciting… even if my new teapot didn’t appreciate it.
But…
It has been suggested that their media and publicity about this in 2013 was a head fake to get other businesses and companies to miss what they were really doing.
…and what were they really doing?
Buying trucks.
Buying airplanes.
Amazon delivered almost 6 billion packages in 2023 using their fulfillment network – and delivered more packages than FedEx and UPS.
So what’s next?
Don’t hold your breath on drone delivery.  Amazon has doubled (and tripled) down on logistics — that actually work at scale.

What’s Going on at the Beach?
We left the beach! (well… our beach!)
…and yes, people who live in paradise also travel. 🌴
Time for a vacation! Our boys wanted to see more countries and seemed to be at an age now that they will remember it. We have flown to Italy and are on a 7 day cruise!
First time cruising for all of us and lots to figure out!
First stop will be Santorini and then Athens. Shoot me an e-mail at info@sellingfromthebeach.com if there is anywhere that we absolutely have to check out!

The 1% Zone 👊 Actionable Amazon Tips
Have you read James Clear’s Atomic Habits? Little things add up.
Here’s something you can to TODAY to improve your business:
How to convert on SBV like an absolute boss
The main idea: Take your hero keyword and put it in your SBV (Sponsored Brand Video).
Let’s say your hero keyword is “Stainless Steel Garlic Press.”
Take that keyword and add it as overlay text in your SBV ad. Have the person speaking in the ad mention that keyword as well.
Then, when you run your SBV – which is essentially now a supercharged SKC (Single Keyword Campaign), you will convert like gangbusters.
Why? People searching for that exact keyword will see their intent reflected immediately. It’s the same logic as having “Stainless Steel Garlic Press” on your packaging
Give it a try!

Flights, hotels, packing, and everything in between.
Add and Airtag to your Checked Bag
Heard of airtags? They’re this small little device that you can put on or in sensitive stuff for you to keep track of. Think wallets, keys, luggage, pets, etc.
Their catchphrase is “Lose the knack of losing things.” 😂
They cost $29 each (must be an Apple user of course).
Next time you travel, pop one into your checked bags. That way you’ll know where they are at all times.

 ChatGPT Vacation Planning
Planning our Italy trip, I turned to ChatGPT… If you haven’t tried it this way, do so. It’s remarkable!
I asked clear, direct questions about our journey—when to go, which value cards to use, and the days when places might be too busy or closed. Here are some of the questions I posed (I also inquired about trains and schedules, but you get the idea):
  • Plan a nine-day sightseeing trip for our family of four in Rome and Vatican City, starting on July 13th. What tickets and passes should we get to save time and money, considering holidays and closed days?
  • Optimize our itinerary, assuming we’ll buy the Omnia Vatican and Rome Card, and the Roma Pass 72-hour.
  • Do you have any promotion codes for the Omnia Vatican and Rome Card?
  • Can you provide approximate durations for how long we should spend at each location?
Have you done something like this before? How did it work out for you?

(What I’m Pissed About Lately)
The big news last week was basically everyone getting multiple (some in the hundreds) account violations for ASINs being identified as “SEEDS_AND_PLANTS.”
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t know — it would be nice if Amazon were to have some sort of failsafe or checks and balances before sending something like this out to hundreds of thousands of accounts.
Apart from scaring many sellers half to death – i’m sure seller support got absolutely pummeled with cases.
Did you get any of these violations? I did. And a few big names had some “fake news” and “sky is falling” posts. Luckily, they all dissapeared last week.
Amazon eventually mentioned the issue, but did not apologise.

From Jamie: What’s the best way to expand from USA to Canada? NARF/MF/FBA?
SFTB: All are viable but the clear winner is FBA.
NARF is great for quickly cross-listing your stuff on Amazon but you won’t see too much in sales due to slow fulfillment and import fees.
MF is even worse. Slow/expensive shipping, importing issues & customs. It’s just a hassle. Avoid.
FBA It’s just the best way to do it. Send a bunch of stuff in at once – FBA listings enjoy premium placements and you’ll be able to sell more and compete. Make sure to keep in mind the additional logistics fees & conversion issues
