With March drawing to a close, Costa Rica is beginning its Semana Santa Holy Week, which starts on March 24th.

This period typically sees a significant number of people from San Jose and other inland areas heading to the coast for vacation, resulting in a much busier atmosphere in our neck of the jungle.🦜
My sons are also on spring break! And with tax season in full swing, we’ve decided to visit their grandmother in Orlando. Jackson’s 12th birthday is on April 2nd, and I’ve planned something I believe every 12-year-old would enjoy: a tour of an Amazon warehouse, which can be found at Amazon Tours.

Additionally, we celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day with traditions reflecting our Irish heritage, including green beer and lemonade. This sparked an interesting discussion about what percentage Irish the boys are, given that both of my mom’s grandparents were Irish.

On your next Costa Rica visit…
When visiting tours and attractions, it’s worth asking about a local or resident discount, as many places offer special rates for residents.
Sometimes, these discounted prices are even listed on websites. Typically, you’ll need to show a resident card to access these deals, though not all establishments strictly require proof of residency. If asked for a resident card and you don’t have it with you, you can mention you forgot it (and use this as leverage to negotiate a lower price). 😉
Additionally, bypassing middlemen and dealing directly with tour operators can lead to savings, since operators save on commission fees. Be proactive in asking for all available pricing options, as staff may not volunteer this information upfront.

Does this ever happen to you?
I constantly catch myself working in my business all day without stopping.  I’m answering emails, replying to people on slack, buying inventory, etc.
Basically a sh*tload of busywork.
And then the day is over, and I do it all again the next day. And I have no idea what even happened.
This edition I’m pissed at myself. I contantly have to set reminders for what I should be focusing on because so often I get busy doing random, low value tasks in my business.
Here’s 4 ways to organize your time to focus on what matters:
Boomerang: Set your e-mails to come in at certain time batches so you’re not constantly in your email replying to each one that comes in.
Supercharge your To-Do list: Use the to-do list matrix and assign each one of your things to do a certain number (1, 2, 3, or 4). Then rearrange and see where your real prorities are.
Time Batching: Schedule a chunk of time every day to work on an important project. I like 90-minute chunks. No distractions.
Understand Yourself: What time of day are you most productive? When do you get your best work done? For me, it’s the mornings. From 7-12. I know I’ll do good stuff during this time – for that reason, no meetings, email, or busywork.
